Personality: Mavis is a friendly person, not only as a nurse but in her personal life as well. She’s big on giving people second chances and forgives easily. She’s generally optimistic which her patients enjoy, but it often leads to small bouts of depression for Mavis when a patient dies. But, as a professional, Mavis works through it and quickly recovers. In an emergency Mavis has a cool head unless it involves her own life someway, in which case she panics. Generally Mavis is a hard working, pleasant person.
History: Her family moved from Japan to Hawaii in the late 1800s and from Hawaii to the US mainland a few decades later. Mavis’s family has been in the business of healing as far back as their records go and Mavis has never entertained the idea of a different line of work. Her father had his own psychological practice for 30 years before taking a teaching position on criminal psychology at the State University of New York. Mavis’s mother runs a clinic for battered women in New York City, where Mavis’s older brother Roger is a paramedic. Mavis herself is a graduate of Yale Nursing School and is a Registered Nurse. She very recently transferred from Saint Clares Hospital, Sussex NJ.
